ŠMIJ
Kopš 1973. gada ŠMIJ (Šī Māksla ir Jauna) ir ikgadēja LNJAK rīkota kultūras nedēļas nogale, kas dod latviešu sabiedrībai Toronto iespēju baudīt mākslu un kultūru.
Katru gadu martā, ŠMIJ pulcē latviešu jauniešus no Kanādas un ASV, dodot viņiem iespēju satikties, izstādīt savus mākslas darbus un piedalīties daudzveidīgos pasākumos.
ŠMIJ (This Art is Young) is an annual cultural weekend organized by LNJAK that celebrates the creativity of Latvian youth across Canada and the United States.
Since its inception in 1973, ŠMIJ has become a beloved tradition in Toronto, showcasing art and culture. Taking place in March every year, the event brings together young Latvians to connect with their heritage.

MĀKSLAS IZSTĀDE
Galerija ir ŠMIJ nedēļas nogales centrālais elements, kurā apskatāmi latviešu jauniešu radošie darbi. Katru gadu tā notiek citā Toronto norises vietā, dodot iespēju jaunajiem māksliniekiem parādīt savus talantus.

ART GALLERY
The ŠMIJ gallery is the centerpiece of the weekend, showcasing creative works by Latvian youth. Each year, it takes place at a different Toronto venue, offering a fresh setting for artists and visitors. It’s a unique chance for young artists to showcase their talents and connect with the community.

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
During the ŠMIJ weekend, participants have the chance to engage in various educational seminars and hands-on workshops led by professionals and community members from different industries. The seminars offer valuable insights and skills, while the creative workshops provide opportunities to learn new crafts and techniques.

BALLĪTES UN PASĀKUMI
ŠMIJ nedēļas nogales laikā tiek organizēti dažādi pasākumi, piemēram interaktīvs sķēršļu gājiens, kostīmu ballīte un svinīgā balle, kuru mērķis ir savienot Latvijas jauniešus un dot iespēju iegūt jaunus draugus.

PARTIES AND SOCIALS
A variety of social events are organized throughout the weekend, aiming to unite Latvian youth and provide a space for making new friends. Traditionally, the weekend includes a social meet-up at the start, an interactive obstacle course, a costume party, and a black-tie gala event.
